Terms of Service
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. Using Suboptima
Suboptima is a tool for tracking and managing your recurring subscriptions. By creating an account, you agree to use it honestly and lawfully — don't abuse the service, scrape it, or try to break it. You're responsible for the accuracy of the subscription data you enter.
2. Your account
Keep your password safe. You can sign in with email or Google, or try the app as a guest. You're responsible for activity on your account and can delete it any time from Settings. When you delete it, your subscription data and login are removed right away.
3. Beta V1
Suboptima is in Beta. Features may change, break, or move. During Beta the service is free. Paid plans may arrive later — existing users will get clear notice before anything changes for them.
4. AI advisor
Our AI advisor analyzes the subscription data you enter and offers suggestions. To do this, your subscription details and chat messages are sent to Google Gemini, our AI provider; see our Privacy Policy for exactly what is sent. AI suggestions can be wrong. They are general guidance, not financial advice. We don't guarantee savings or outcomes. You decide what to act on. We limit how often the AI features can be used so the service stays available to everyone.
5. Your data
Your subscription list belongs to you. We store it to show it back to you, to send you renewal reminders, and to power the AI advisor. We don't sell your data. You can export it as CSV any time and delete your account to remove everything.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Suboptima to store fictional or test data meant to harm other users, impersonate anyone, or violate laws. We may suspend accounts that clearly abuse the service.
7. Service availability
We work to keep Suboptima running smoothly but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Beta software has rough edges — we move fast and fix things as we learn about them. Reminder emails are a convenience, not a guarantee: don't rely on them as your only way to track a renewal.
8. Changes to these terms
If we update these terms materially, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
